  Susan Hayward - Edythe Marrener 

Año 1919 - Nació el 20 de junio en Brooklyn, Nueva York.

Se inició en el mundo del espectáculo como modelo publicitaria.

 

Año 1937 - Se traslada a Hollywood para intentar encarnar a Escarlata O'Hara en la película "Lo que el viento se llevó" pero no lo consiguió. Inmediatamente rodó "Hollywood Hotel", un musical dirigido por Busby Berkeley.

Año 1939 – Este año interprtó "Beau Geste", de William Wellman, trabajó junto a Gary Cooper y Ray Milland.

 

Ha trabajado con directores como Wellman, Mankiewicz, Jacques Tourneur y Nicholas Ray.

Año 1955 - Con el melodrama de Daniel Mann, Mañana lloraré  (I'll Cry Tomorrow, recibió uno de los premios de interpretación en Cannes.

 

Año 1958 – “¡Quiero vivir!”de Robert Wise , le dieron un Oscar.

En un principio interpretó papeles dramáticos, como en Una mujer destruida (S.Heisler, 1947), My Foolish Heart (M. Robson, 1950) o La dama marcada (H. Levin, 1953). Sobresale en su papel deMujeres en Venecia (1967) de Mankiewicz, y en The Lusty Men (1952) de Nicholas Ray. Otras películas son: Piratas del mar Caribe (1942), de Cecil B. De Mille; Me casé con una bruja (id.), de René Clair;Tierra generosa (1946), de Jacques Tourneur; Odio entre hermanos (1949), de Mankiewicz; Tulsa, ciudad de lucha (id.), de Stuart Heisler.

Se casó con el actor Jess Barker en 1944 del que se divorció diez años después. Posteriormente contrajo matrimonio con Floyd Eaton Calkley en 1957 del que quedaría viuda en 1966.

Susan Hayward falleció en 14 de marzo de 1975 en Hollywood, California, víctima de un tumor cerebral.
