Virginia Mayo  - Virginia Jones

Año 1922 - Nació el 30 de noviembre en Saint Louis, EEUU.

Hija de un periodista, su interés por el mundo del espectáculo fue precoz, acudiendo a la academia de arte dramático de una tía.

Desde muy joven estudia baile y canto. Diva de la pantalla en los años 40, su carrera brilló junto a actores tan diversos como Danny Kaye, James Cagney y Bob Hope.

Año 1943 - Comenzó con un pequeño papel en la película “Jack London”, que curiosamente protagonizaba el que acabaría siendo su marido, el actor Michael O'Shea. 

Año 1947 - En la comedia (La vida secreta de Walter Mitty, N. Z. McLeod.

Año 1949 – “Juntos hasta la muerte”, “ Al rojo vivo”

Año 1950 - The West Point Store - Director R. Del Ruth. Virginia Mayo - James Cagney - Doris Day.

Año 1950 - “El halcón y la flecha”.

Año 1951 - “Camino de la horca”, “El hidalgo de los mares”, J. Tourneur resaltó su elegancia

Año 1952 -  “She's Working Her Way Through College, Bruce Humberstone. “La novia de acero”, “The Iron Mistress”, Gordon Douglas. 

Año 1955 - Trabajó en “The Pearl of the South Pacific”, A. Dwan.

Año 1956 -  “Una pistola al amanecer”.

Además, la actriz siempre repudió la televisión aunque hizo algunas colaboraciones en series como 'Se ha escrito un crimen' o 'Santa Bárbara'.

Año 2005 - Virginia Mayo falleció el 17 de enero  tras una larga neumonía que acabó en un paro cardiaco en una residencia de Los Ángeles.
